GEWR-E445 IS USED AS PROTECTIVE COATING AGENT FOR CITRUS FRUITS

In brief,  Wood Rosin – E445 (CG BG CG389) is a complex mixture of abietic acid derived from old pine strains (Palustris and Elliottii), esterified on dietary glycerol. A very useful coating agent for fresh citrus fruits. CARAGUM offers you a new source of GEWR  BG CG389-E445.

Dosage and Application

In addition, the Directive on Food Additives other than Colours and Sweeteners has now requested to permit the use of certain rosin derivatives as surface treatment of citrus fruits at a rate of application of 50mg/kg fruit.

Glycerol Ester of Wood Rosin-E445 is used as protective coating agent on citrus fruits to prevent transpiration of moisture with resulting weight loss. Indeed, it will delays fruit ageing and to improves the appearence of the fruits by increasing the shine of the peel.

GEWR–E445 (CG BG CG389) is also mainly use  as a density adjuster and disturbing agent in juices made from concentrate.
